Kim Koppelman retired as Speaker of the North Dakota House of Representatives in December, 2022 after a 28-year legislative career. The former National Chairman of the Council of State Governments and long-time chairman of the Judiciary Committee, he previously chaired the Constitutional Revision and Administrative Rules Committees.

He served in many state, regional and national leadership roles and is the recipient of many awards for his leader- ship and public service. Speaker Koppelman is a graduate of the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development, is a Toll Fellow and was selected for the Rising State US Leaders Program by the government of Canada.

He is also the founder, president and
CEO of an award-winning communications, public relations, marketing and advertising firm serving clients on a local, regional, national and international scale.

He and his wife, Torey, have three children and nine grandchildren and reside in West Fargo, North Dakota.
